Character: Yuki
Canon: IDOLiSH7; after the end of game Main Story Part 4 (and including up through La Danse Macabre)
Age: 26

Background Information:
- Yuki and Banri formed a group called Re:vale who began as a band with guitars and a pop-rock feel, later became idols to avoid having backing band difficulties
- During this time they met Momo, who went from super fan to super helpful roadie-type guy after he defended Yuki from some people who wanted to beat him up on stage over a uh... callous thing Yuki said
- There was an accident on stage and Banri disappeared
- Yuki was despondent, didn't really have the will to do much
- Momo persistently visited and begged him to sing again and write music and be a star
- Eventually Momo broke Yuki down and they teamed up, also under the name Re:vale
- They lived together in a tiny apartment and scraped by as they found their way up from the bottom
- Prior to the start of the game story, they win several major awards and become the darlings of the idol industry
- Re:vale are introduced in part 2 of the main story of IDOLiSH7, where they're planning a concert at Zero Arena and are acting as senpai for the younger idols
- They invite groups TRIGGER and IDOLiSH7 to perform with them
- Over the course of this there is Some Drama, but it all culminates in Momo losing his voice and being unable to perform
- Yuki of course is worried sick, but after a little ploy from IDOLiSH7, it comes out that Momo had put a 5 year limit on their partnership, and that five year anniversary was nigh
- So Momo thinks Yuki is going to ditch him
- And Yuki basically in all of these shenanigans goes OFF about how much he cares about Momo
- And then is suitably embarrassed! But the marriage was saved
- And then. Banri shows back up.
- Yuki tries to mend things with Banri to very poor success, as Banri appears to want little to do with him (and is working as a manager for IDOLiSH7)
- In Part 3 of the story, there's a whole conspiracy to destroy the idol industry, beginning with one of the idol groups central to the story (TRIGGER)
- Over the course of Part 3, it's revealed that there's another agency doing all the dirty work to make TRIGGER look bad
- Re:vale to the rescue! They totally take over a 24 hour marathon with a genius plot to get support for TRG again, and it definitely works
- Yuki has particular friction with IDOLiSH7's Yamato over things, as Yuki knew him (sorta) when he was a child and networked with Yamato's father, and Yuki has pressured him multiple times before over his secret familial ties
- Yuki definitely rescues Momo from some thugs who are trying to murder him and definitely does not just recite kitchen spices
- And Re:vale actually smack each other and get a lecture from their manager, which is only being mentioned because it's a really funny scene
- Re:vale are still at it in Part 4 trying to shut down Tsukumo Ryou, the guy behind TRIGGER's downfall
- Yuki advises Sougo on his songwriting and shows his Big Mentor Energy -- only he's kind of rude about it, as he's... Yuki
- Ryou starts a rumor about Yuki's past, then sneaks the "Yuki had a former partner" bombshell to the media
- Yuki and Momo's anti-Ryou plans start to fall apart because of this, and Yuki grows increasingly worried about protecting what he cares about, to the point of even crying in front of TRIGGER
- Yuki and Momo end up calling out the media before a guerrilla live
- And later are honest about their feelings, with Momo handing Yuki lyrics to write music for
- In the end, Ryou is apprehended, Re:vale wins the yearly Black or White music award, and I fear for what's going to happen in part 5.
- The only significance of La Danse Macabre being included is that I really like the Ichiban Kuji events, and that one is really cool -- it has no plot relevance honestly as it's a play-within-a-play thing going on

Personality:

A light-and-dark contradiction. He wears white costumes to Momo's black, has light colored hair and icy eyes, seems cool and standoffish at a glance. But there's much more to Yuki than just being a good-looking idol. He's talented, difficult and gentle in surprising ways, but above all endlessly devoted.

Fiercely creative and a multi-talented songwriter and performer, Yuki can do anything from write a heartfelt ballad or scathing diss track, to play a hardboiled cop or a genius villain. Yuki is the songwriter for the vast majority of Re:vale's music, though they have done occasional covers and he's collaborated with Momo. While he was always a gifted performer, he did have to work hard to come across as less distant and aloof. He also worked in his earlier years to hone his dancing to meet the standard set by other idols. He's skilled with guitar, as well! Is there much Yuki can't do? Oh, right, he's a fairly well-known and highly regarded drama actor. Yuki communicates best through music. He's come to want to inspire people with it, and for the general populace to enjoy it. As long as they respect his incredible musicality, that is.

More often honest than not, Yuki comes off as blunt even in the most innocent of situations. He delivers critique and criticism succinctly and without much hesitation, often not realizing he's coming off as harsh when he thinks he's just being truthful. There's no reason for him to mince words the way he minces vegetables, preferring to give people the straightforward route to their answers. This happens repeatedly in canon, one of the cuter examples being when he absolutely roasts Sougo's altered song for being too boring and formulaic, then straightforwardly praises the original track he wrote before. This is in direct opposition to the scene where Yamato attacks him over his poor use of blunt-force honesty.

Momo describes Yuki as shy, something that calls back to his younger days. When Yuki was younger, Momo and Banri were among the very few to see Yuki as merely shy and bad with people, and not a complete jerk. Unfortunately, Yuki's "cool" appearance sometimes makes him seem scary or off-putting. Combine that with the bluntness mentioned previously, and it was a recipe for disaster. He seems to have warmed up as a person over time, what with having acting as a skill and having such an outgoing partner, but Momo really takes care of social things so Yuki doesn't have to. Yuki is the foil on TV show appearances, the giver of fanservice and sharp wit, where Momo carries the conversations as the duo's MC.

Yuki is terrible at communicating. He's bad at choosing the right words, is (again) blunt, and has trouble confronting things that either need to be trotted out for discussion, or things that are bothering him or others. He can't tell people how he feels easily, even when he wants them to understand it; or, worse, when he thinks they already know or that something should be obvious (and it's totally not). It leads to such situations as Momo not realizing Yuki appreciates him in Part 2, and several other instances of small and large misunderstandings (particularly with Momo). And this unfortunately goes both ways: Yuki is also easily hurt by the words and actions of others, though his poor communication skills mean he doesn't always show it. He'd rather internalize it and carry on than confront it unless it's absolutely necessary, but even Yuki can cry. He refuses to show it to most people, but he breaks down in front of TRIGGER over the Banri scandal Ryou causes in Part 4. His heartfelt distress coupled with his inability to admit things to Momo and others closer to him resulted in him clamming up until things boiled over.

Much of Yuki's taciturn appearance also stems from him being a private person. A lot of this is simply due to earlier times in his life, from Re:vale with Banri to his first forays into acting. There's struggle and difficulty in his past that he'd rather not drag out. His reasons for making hard decisions are his alone, and he holds them close to his chest. This is especially true when it comes to Momo and Banri, whose reputations he fiercely protects by maintaining silence when rumors go flying. Eventually, Yuki snaps and chides the press for hounding them over painful past occurrences, but he does this even without dropping unnecessary details. The truth of how Yuki feels about people, and the truth of how he treasures and guards them, is between him and them only.

When surrounded by peers or juniors he cares for, he's warmer and more apt to be open. If he's cornered and agitated, he also knows how to use his words sharply, but he shows a marked desire to be softer toward people he truly values and cares about. He won't often compromise his pride, but for people dear to him, especially Momo and Banri, he'll do whatever it takes to show he cares. Even if that means practicing the lines on a fire extinguisher beforehand, or making an effort to carefully plan the conversation's flow, Yuki will take great pains to be gentle with people who matter the most. He shows a degree of concern toward these people over their perceptions of him, and frets quietly about those he holds dearest.

He's fiercely protective at the closest degree of intimacy one can get with him, even if he's not always great at protecting in the ways he'd like to. While he and Momo put on a "married couple" act constantly, to the point of there being rumors that they're actually a couple every few months or so, Yuki's true feelings run way deeper. They have trouble talking to each other about important things, but Yuki will dive headfirst into danger to try to spare Momo or help him. He quite literally saves his life in Part 3, though in a roundabout way and while reciting kitchen spices menacingly. He leverages his contacts in the industry to help both Re:vale and their juniors, though he has difficulty asking for favors and being casually social with people. He'll put aside his pride and private nature for those he loves in this way, as well. At the extreme, there is undeniable sincerity in the way he holds Momo up as someone he would do anything for, as someone who means the world to him in irreplaceable ways, and who he wants nothing more than to be partners with forever.

There is even a playful side to Yuki that goes even beyond his "married couple" act with Momo, a sincere, genuine love of the people around him that he shows when he's relaxed and comfortable. He'll tease people, absolutely roast them, even go so far as to feel up some muscles or get a little too handsy. His deadpan wit is rapier-sharp when he needs it to be, honestly, prime for taking the shit out of colleagues and juniors alike.

Abilities & Inventory: Singing, dancing, songwriting, guitar playing. No supernatural abilities or anything like that! Inventory is unfortunately just the clothes on his back. As for dreamotion abilities, I'm trying to think of things related to ice and music... Influencing his surroundings!

Suitability & Plans: Hooboy. Yuki has a tendency to keep issues to himself and not confront problems. I feel like a place like this, where he's removed from some of the stresses of idol life and put into a whole new environment, might help him develop some different (better?) coping skills. He's also kind of a ruminating sort, so it'll be interesting to play out some of his dreams and thoughts. Introducing him to people not in the entertainment industry should also prove interesting, because he won't know what to do with them at all. I kind of like watching him struggle and do his best, okay? He'll do better with more "mundane" or less dangerous event types, but I'd still like to see him challenge his own courage a bit too! As long as he has music he'll be fine, to be honest, so hopefully a guitar can come his way sooner rather than later!

Even if he's kind of prone to keeping to himself, when he warms up to people (and it's usually over music or plants or cooking!) he tries to be a good friend. I know it will be hard for him to get CR at first if he doesn't have castmates to force him into lots of social situations, but the incidental nature of some of the dream stuff should really open doors for him. With castmates, he'll probably socialize a little more with them than with others, but he's also pretty self-sufficient when it comes to meeting people and making connections once he sets his mind to it. He keeps them minimal, but they exist. It's my hope that he'll come out of this with a greater appreciation for himself and the people he meets!

Test Drive Sample: Sample 1, Sample 2

Questions: No questions, thank you! Just a statement! I have been in convention crunch mode so that's why I was very slow on the TDM. I'm generally better at this, but the timing has been hecc.
